Thank you very much Tamar and Linis for your comments!

Yes Linis, the Taoist idea of Man as a bridge or mediator between Heaven and Earth was at the back of my mind while writing this piece.

In this regard I would strongly recommend The Great Triad, by René Guénon, the French metaphysician's last book, which deals primarily with the Taoist understanding of the Heaven-Man-Earth axis. The book shows that while this conception is most fully developed in Taoism, it is present also in one form or another in all the great spiritual traditions.

After reading your text two ideas came to my mind.

-The first one is the taoist saying :

The human being is a bridge between heaven and earth.

These two opposites should be balanced in our lives, although it seems to me that our society has forgotten about heaven and has focused most on the earthly side of life. But if we want to be real human beings we have to look up and see things from a different perspective. Meditation can be a good tool to find this balance.

We also have to connect the two parts of our brain and do not wrongly asume that one is better than the other. Science and Art should work hand in hand in our Educational systems and help students to develop not only analytical, rational thoughts but sythetic, and imaginative ways of thinking as well. It think that our educatitional system is not balanced … in the sense that it gives much more importance to logical left side of the brain and less importance to the intuitive right side. We should listen to what Sir Ken Robinson says about this issue.

-The second idea that came to my mind is about Astrology.

We are in a very important period of time: we are saying goodbye to the Piscean era and starting the renowned Aquarius age.

Two years ago, at the end of December 2020, a turning point took place: We could see, looking up at the sky at sunset the great conjunction of the “chronocrators”, the lords of time, Jupiter and Saturn, at 0º Aquarius, an air sign.

Jupiter and Saturn join their cycles every 20 years… but for the last 200 years, the great conjunctions have all happened in earth signs (Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn). Last December 2020 they entered an air sign. And the meaning for me is related to this the idea ofd looking up at heaven and try to balance the excessive focus on earthly matters that we all have in our society.

It is time to raise your head to look up at heaven. We can be like cheetahs , it is important to have our feet rooted on earth but we can also be like seagulls and try to fly to see our life from a different perspective. It is time to open our wings, and enjoy the freedom up there in the sky.
